Introducing Zachary Thomas Ingoglia

Well…let me tell you about Saturday, October 5th, 2002! It all started off as relatively normal day of warm slimy darkness. I can usually hear some muffled sounds too. The sounds I heard were the sound of the car driving. I could hear discussions of the freeway being closed for construction…whatever that means. I hear this discussion often…it’s a hot topic in the car! After a few minutes of driving, we arrived at our destination. When we arrived, I felt very comfortable and relaxed. I could hear some voices discussing some medical stuff…all Greek to me! I also heard discussions of a card game…I believe dad won that game too. :-)

After a little while, I began to feel a little uncomfortable. It was like the walls were coming in around me. That feeling would come and go…it wasn’t too bad in the beginning, but after a couple hours, I was starting to get a little irritated. I thought of yelling but I can’t speak, so I just went with it and tried not to let it bother me. Then all of a sudden, things got a little crazy. Seems like every couple minutes, the walls were coming in around me and it was getting harder and harder to resist. My head was getting compacted into this little space and it was really not any fun at this point. Every once in a while I felt my head getting poked by something…I really don’t know what. Then all of a sudden, I hear people saying PUSH! I thought… “push what”? So I started to push…I was pushing with my legs and pushing with my hands, I really had no idea what I was doing at this point, but they kept yelling push so I did!. Next, I heard people saying, “look at his hair”? “Look at whose hair,” I thought. They must have been looking at my hair...this was getting kinda weird. Finally, my head felt a little cold, the lights were bright…and all I could do was scream, so I did. Next thing I know, I am no longer in the warm slimly darkness anymore…it is very bright and very cold. I really didn’t understand what was happening. I was pretty scared, but there were nice people all around me telling me how cute I was and talking about how long my hair was, so I started to feel a little comfortable. I laid on mom’s tummy for a while and that felt nice.
Just when I was starting to feel comfortable with the whole thing, I was taken off mom’s tummy and I was subjected to all kinds of medical experiments! Now I knew what was happening…I had been abducted by aliens. They were poking me everywhere, so I started to cry. My foot must have been poked 10 times! Couldn’t they get it right the first time??? Next they started cooking me! Yup…they had me in some kind of heater. I soon realized that it wasn’t that hot, and it kinda felt good. After a couple minutes, things got a little better. Dad gave me a sponge bath and my hair was washed. Dad even tried to put a diaper on me. He seemed a little scared…what did he think I was going to pee on him or something?

I heard everyone discussing how great mom did. She didn’t take any pain medication at all. I thought, what about me, didn’t I just go through a painful traumatic experience too? …and poor dad, he had to watch the whole thing!!! Well…mom IS great and I am a very luck baby!

Lot’s of people came to visit me and everyone was very excited. I was pretty zonked out, so I didn’t really put on a show or anything, but everyone was smiling and had a good time I guess.

Today is Sunday October, 6th and for the most part I just slept today. Everyone is pushing me into breast feeding, I don’t really have the hang of it yet, but I will keep trying. I could really just go for a cheeseburger or something like that but I don’t have any teeth, so I guess I will just have to wait a little while for the finer things in life.

Dad and I spent some time together…whenever I got upset, dad came to my rescue. We had a little conversation tonight about things and he told me that he would start a diary for me. That way I could look back in future and remember where I have been. I told dad that I would help him write the diary too. I can’t really talk yet, but I think dad can tell what I am thinking and I am sure he will do his best!

Too all of our family and friends, if you find yourself wondering how I am doing, check back weekly for the latest news and photos!

PS. I have the great honor of sharing my birthday with my favorite drummer; Troy Luccketta of Tesla was born on October 5 as well! Troy was very excited and made the first contribution towards my college fund! I actually went to my first Tesla concert about two months ago on August 8th....that is when I became a Tesla fan! Can you believe mom took me to a rock concert two months before I was born?!?!

...oh...I got to pee on dad later when he tried to change my diaper again. Thankfully, I think it will be mom's job from now on!
